Corona (Plural: Coronae)
The uppermost level of a star's atmosphere. In the sun, the corona is
characterized by low densities and high temperatures (> 1,000,000 degrees
K).
The luminous plasma atmosphere of the Sun or
other star, extending millions of kilometres into space,
most easily seen during a total solar eclipse.
